David Harper, Christmas bazaar, Forbidden Nights and Beauty & the Beast all coming up at the Memorial

THE Memorial Theatre has a busy line-up of music and entertainment for the coming months.

Wed 13th November 7.30pm- David Harper – Unexpected Tales! David Harper is a BBC TV presenter well known for his appearances on Bargain Hunt, The Antiques Road Trip, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, Flog It and For What It’s Worth. These hugely popular BBC programmes are shown in over 50 countries worldwide. David has appeared on many other BBC TV programmes too from The One Show to Celebrity Masterchef, Through The Keyhole to Countryfile, Celebrity Eggheads to The Heaven & Earth Show!

The show will feature funny behind-the-scenes anecdotes from TV, live auctions, exciting antique finds, huge profits, even bigger losses, as well as stories from celebrity TV appearances and historical journeys through time. It’s all part of what makes this show like no other.

The show is very much audience-led, with involvement in the form of questions from the audience or questions and challenges from David throughout, as the talk develops. 

Talking about the show David Harper said, “The audience does not need to have a particular interest in antiques to enjoy this show. I will cover subjects ranging from how to build the confidence to appear on TV, money-making schemes, meeting famous characters and humorous real life experiences from TV and the world of art and antiques…and sometimes fabulous stories are unexpectedly shared by audience members too!” £14.

Saturday 23rd November – Christmas Bazaar at the Assembly Rooms. We’re having a Christmas Bazaar at the Assembly Rooms on Saturday 23rd November, 12.00pm – 4.30pm.

Come on down and see our Christmas craft stalls, try your hand at the Tombola and see what you might win on the raffle!

Bar open for refreshment, Christmas cake andmince pies, throughout the afternoon. So come and join the Christmas fun!!!

Friday 29th November 7.30pm- Forbidden Nights. Fantasies don’t come any better than this with sizzling new acts and stunning routines. Brace yourself for two hours of thrilling action, provocative choreography with the ultimate Forbidden strip tease (and a few men in uniform thrown in for good measure).

Abandon your inhibitions at the door as the talented cast of acrobats, fire acts, aerial artists and world-renowned circus performers flip and spin across the stage in this high-octane show. This sexy but classy evening with Forbidden Nights is guaranteed to get your pulse racing and leave you begging for more. Welcome to the Sexy Circus!

December 29th 2019 – Jan 4th 2020. FMTC present Beauty & The Beast

Based on the traditional tale this production is very much a Pantomime with all the usual characters and slapstick fun! With a large cast, bright costumes, set and lighting and wonderful live music.

Come and see if Belle manages to keep the unwanted attentions of Gustave at bay and finds it in her heart to love the Beast before the last rose dies.

Come along and join the cast for a truly magical experience. Evenings at 7pm – 29th/3rd/4th. Matinees at 2pm – 29th/30th/1st/4th. Matinee at 4pm – 31st Morning at 11am – 31st
