Frome charity Openstorytellers’ door vandalised

Story posted on

Openstorytellers is a small charity supporting adults and children with learning disabilities and autism, based at the RISE centre in the heart of Frome.

The charity says, “On Friday evening (25th October), a group of young people threw rocks through the front door of Openstorytellers. Not only has this caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage, but it also compromises the safe space that Openstorytellers strives to provide for its vulnerable members.

“Paying to rectify the damage will come from funds that would ordinarily be used to provide direct support for the people with learning disabilities and autism that Openstorytellers works with. It is extremely unfortunate that the actions of these young people leave such charities to cope with the aftermath.

“There is CCTV footage of the incident, which has now been shared with the local police.

“If you have any information that may be useful to the case – perhaps you were passing Zion Lane on the Friday evening, between 8pm and 9pm – please do get in touch with Openstorytellers on 01373 454099 or info@openstorytellers.org.uk
