Update from Frome Medical Practice

Story posted on

Frome Medical Practice at Enos Way reports that it remains very much open to patients, despite the developing situation regarding the Covid-19 virus.

Dr Helen Kingston, senior partner at the practice said, “What is important for our patients to know is that with a few exceptions, our GPs and other clinicians and support staff are all working normally, subject of course to taking the necessary health precautions.

“The drop-inn blood clinic was suspended on Monday. Blood tests are of course still being taken, but now by appointment. Other services such as the leg club and the young people’s clinic have also had to be put on hold, although patients can still access appointments in the usual way.  Most of the services we provided last month we are still providing for now. Any changes to events or services are posted on our up-to-date website and I would urge all our patients to check out the site for all updates at www.fromemedicalpractice.co.uk”

Dr Kingston took the opportunity to thank everyone for their help and co-operation.

“These really are unique times that we live in, but the commitment of everyone who works here at the practice has been fantastic,” she said. “However, I would also like to thank our patients. Everyone now seems to understand that however contrary it may seem, if a patient thinks that they may have symptoms of the  coronavirus, or they share a home with someone else displaying symptoms, then they must stay at home and not come into the surgery, hospital or a pharmacy.”

Dr Kingston reiterates that as developments unfold on an almost daily basis, then any changes to patient services will be posted on the website.

“Our patients have been fabulous,” said Dr Kingston. “Their helpfulness and understanding has been key in ensuring that we remain open and accessible to all. I know that everyone will share my thoughts on how important it is that we all work together, as I know we shall.”
