Frome’s protesting Blackbirds heading to COP

FROME Blackbirds, part of the Frome Extinction Rebellion protest group, will be going to the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26), hosted by the UK, which will take place 31st October-12th November in Glasgow. The group’s eye-catching costumes attracted worldwide media when they appeared at the G7 summit in Cornwall earlier this year.

In Glasgow, they will be continuing to sound the alarm for nature and will spread the message of the urgent need to address the ecological crisis, as well as taking action on climate change.

Before they head off to Glasgow, the Blackbirds will be making an appearance in Frome on Saturday 30th October. They are inviting people to come and give them a good send off, and hear their message. They will be at Boyle Cross at 11.00am and then making their way through the Westway precinct to outside the library.

There will also be an opportunity to ‘come to the table’ (opposite WH Smiths) to talk about COP and share your thoughts about climate change. The table and hosts will also be there on 6th and 13th November from 10.00am.
