THE home entertainment store, Channel 5 Video, is coming to Frome, opening in Palmer Street soon.
Channel 5 Video, who already have successful shops in neighbouring Midsomer Norton and Radstock, hope to have their store open by the end of the month.
Ron Coe, who set up the business in Midsomer Norton in 1983, said that the company is expanding to make the most of a gap in the market. “It started with Blockbuster closing,” he explained. “We had a look at various premises in Frome and we found this one in Palmer Street and decided to go for it.”
The new premises will not only supply customers with all the latest DVD and Blu ray releases but also drinks, confectionary and licensed merchandise including Spongebob Squarepants, Marvel, Disney and Hello Kitty.
The store will also be stocking a range of Aurora gifts such as The Gruffalo and the Yoohoo and friends creatures – big eyed, colourful toys designed to teach children about endangered species.
Established in 1983 Channel 5 is one of the country’s oldest wholesalers of home entertainment starting with the old VHS format, evolving through DVD and looking forward to the future with Hi Definition Blu Ray. They have been supplying convenience stores and specialist video outlets throughout the country for over 26 years and are proud to be among the few remaining suppliers to the trade in the UK.
More information about the shop opening as well as the other stores can be found at www.channel 5video.co.uk. The website also has information on the latest film and game releases as well as prices. Information regarding membership and opening dates will be posted soon.
