Issue 313 – Frome Festival fundraising platform for local charity

Every year at Frome Festival, Leslies Flower shop proprietor Karen Harvey with her daughter Eve, offers her wonderful gardens as a venue for cream tea afternoons to raise funds for Positive Action on Cancer.

This year the cream teas were held in the magnificent Bastion Gardens at Monmouth House and raised over £2,000 for the charity.
Rosie Eliot from PAC said, “This is such a wonderful way to raise money for us. The cream teas are always a huge success and it is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the festival.”
A new event at this year’s Frome Festival, ‘Nunney Rocks’, raised nearly £1,200 for PAC on the last Sunday of the festival. ‘Nunney Rocks’ was an outdoor music event organised by Keren Hayden who runs the Nunney Café and it was held in the Nunney Quarry Gardens. Lots of the audience members on the very sunny July afternoon and evening said it was the highlight of the festival and they would like to see its return next year.
Rose Eliot said, “The festival offers a platform for local organisations and individuals to show their support for PAC and get involved with the festival by putting on a fundraising event. We are very grateful for those who have supported us during Frome Festival and if anybody would like to host an event please contact us on 01373 455255 and we will help you in whatever way we can.”
