Issue 323 – Gearing up for cancer research bike ride

A LOCAL man is preparing to cycle from London to Montpellier in France all in aid of prostate and bone cancer research.

Jamie Mason is in training for the 730-mile bike ride which will take place on the 16th of April. He said, “It will be a challenge but it is for a good cause.”
This cycle ride will mark Jamie’s first fundraising experience. “I cycled to Paris last year, but decided to take the trip a little further,” he said.
“I decided to raise money for prostate and bone cancer after a close friend died. He had both of these types of cancer. I want to give something back to those who helped him through a difficult time.”
Jamie is currently training by cycling 100 miles a day, finding time in between his work and involvement with both the Merlin and Memorial theatres in Frome.
