Issue 348 – PAC Splash of Purple Day

THE annual Splash of Purple day for Frome charity Positive Action on Cancer (PAC) was well supported by  businesses, schools and Frome town centre on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd March.  Early indications show that it was another success for PAC as the town turned purple for the day.  Over 40 local shops and businesses took part along with Christchurch School and members of the community.  PAC organised a coffee morning at the Blue House and a cake stall in the Westway Precinct.  Kelly Hall, fundraiser at PAC said, “The economic climate is very tough at the moment and we can’t pretend that our services are not being affected.  However, once again the local community really got behind PAC and showed their wonderful support. It was lovely to visit Christchurch School and local businesses and see how each of them was doing their bit.  Collectively the community really does make a difference to our work.  I would like to thank all those who took part and I very much look forward to working with everyone again next year.   “The money raised at this year’s event will go toward running our adult counselling service in Frome where we currently offer 20 adult sessions each week, at a cost of £40 per session. “More pictures on page 22
