Emily Hoare receives the second place trophy
The Rotary Club of Frome held the Young Photographer 2013/2014 competition on Tuesday 10th December.
The subject was set as ‘People’ and students had to present a montage of three photos to represent the theme.
100 students entered and 25 finalists had their photos framed and hung in Rook Lane Arts Frome. The photos were judged by Patrick Emery and Bill Aven from Frome Wessex Camera Club and Doug Knight, head of art at the Frome Community College.
The judges thought the standard was high and congratulated all the entrants. They gave seven highly commended and awarded first place to Jacob Scoble, second to Emily Hoare and third place to Rosie Oakley. The three winners received a trophy and cash prizes of £100, £50 and £25 which was sponsored by Rotarian Jerry Lewis of Portway Post Office.
Andrea Pujol Hispano, FCC arts technician was pleased with all the entries and thanked the Rotary Club of Frome for organising this event.
