Kelly Lewis from PAC
SIGN up for Frome’s World Record attempt for the largest gathering of people dressed as Wizard of Oz characters!
The event will take place on Sunday 13th July as part of the Frome Festival.
Kelly Lewis, part time community fundraiser for Positive Action on Cancer is the first to sign up and she is currently deciding whether to go as The Good Witch or the Tin Man, whilst aiming to gain sponsorship.
She said, “I saw the article on the front page of the Frome Times and thought that looks fun, I wonder if I can get sponsorship for doing something that is completely out of my comfort zone! Positive Action on Cancer offers an invaluable service and I’d like to do my bit to help.”
To give Kelly courage to follow the Yellow Brick Road she’s asking people to donate to her Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Kelly-Lewis4 to raise funds for PAC to provide counselling to adults and children who have been affected by cancer.
If you’d like to support PAC in a similar way, please call Kelly on 01373 455255 for details about sponsorship.
You can register now to help create Frome’s own Yellow Brick Road and break the record of 446 characters. Full details, movie clips, information, and the opportunity to register, can all be found on the website at www.funto dressup.co.uk.
Registration forms can also be picked up from Absolutely Fabulous Costume Hire at 20 Bath Street or the Kumon Frome Study Centre at 4 Palmer Street. Alternatively send a stamped address envelope to World Record c/o Frome Times, 31 Market Place, Melksham, Wiltshire. SN12 6ES.
PAC is currently the only organisation to offer professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses in BANES, Somerset and West Wilts. If you would like further information about counselling, the work of the charity or fundraising please contact Karen Dufton, PAC’s office manager on 01373 455255 or email info@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk
