Frome half marathon is a sell out!

HUNDREDS of runners will take to the streets of Frome as the third Frome Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k runs take place this Sunday, 20th July.

Spectators are encouraged to come and cheer the runners as they take on the course around the town. The event has grown in popularity and the race capacity has already been met with 750 runners set to line-up and participants include those from as far away as the USA.

The events will set off from Frome Town Football Club at 10.00am. The half marathon will then see runners  make their way through the streets of the town and surrounding countryside, returning through the town centre to the Frome Town football ground for a grandstand finish.

The 10k race will split from the half marathon route at the point where the Half Marathon extends to the countryside at Nunney, and will wind its way back through the town centre, back to the Frome Town Football Ground.

The 5K race will split from the Half Marathon route at Beechwood Avenue, turning right and progressing to Windsor Crescent, and then returning to the start/ finish via Berkley Road.

Organisers hope that they can build on the success of the previous two years.

The chosen charity of the race is Frome Activities and Sports Trust (FAST) and participants are encouraged to raise money for them.
