Critchill Court residents break fundraising record

A GROUP of staff and residents from Critchill Court care home in Frome recently collected over £1,000 for charity in a ‘fundraising week’.

The week, which involved a cheese and wine night, bingo, and a sponsored walk, saw the home on Lynwood Close donate £1,005 to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Donna Carpenter, of Somerset Care, said, “When handing over the cheque we were informed that it was the most ever raised for Macmillan by a residential home.

“Eight residents joined in with the walk, the oldest of whom was 93 years old. They did a walk around Victoria Park with their mobility aids.

“We are very proud of the residents and staff for all their effort raising money. We would also like to thank all who helped us with donations, including local businesses, garden centres, and staff.”

Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity that supports people affected by cancer, whether it be patients, families or communities.
