Things are taking a tropical turn at The Griffin

Prepare to be transported on Saturday 16th August to a time when iPods were unheard of, leg warmers were still OK and George Michael was seen as a fashion icon.

Hard to believe such a time existed… That’s right, The Griffin is going 80’s! And not just any old 80s, but night club kitsch, tropical paradise 80s heaven!

DJ Toby Spin will be playing a night of dancefloor fillers, some heard of, some less heard of and some that haven’t been heard in a very long time… But all will be making the Griffin goers move themselves into the early hours and eventually right back into 2014. With music from 9.00pm – 2.00am and tropical cocktails on special, Hotel Tropicana is set to be the pub’s number one event of the summer.

Fancy dress is very much encouraged, from sweat bands and leotards to Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts.

Manager Ellen Porteous said, “I’m really excited about this night. It will be an occasion where everyone can just reminisce, have a laugh and enjoy the fun side of clubbing for an evening.

“After our popular Electro-Swing night it’s clear that Frome is desperate for a place to really get into the music and dance the night away. And this one’s going to be proper tacky and brilliantly cheesey, I can’t wait!”

Entrance to the event is free. For more information visit
