Frome MP calls for an end to EU special relationship with Israel

MP for Somerton and Frome, David Heath, has called for an embargo on the sale of arms to Israel and an end to the favoured-nation status that Israel enjoys with the European Union.

Speaking in Nunney, where he received a petition containing several hundred signatures collected by members of Frome Friends of Palestine, he condemned Israel’s carnage in Gaza and called for Britain to play a leading role in introducing Europe-wide sanctions to bring about change.

David Heath said, “Israel’s actions are incompatible with our shared assumptions about respect for human life.”
