Frome’s world record attempt DVD is an award winner

FROME Film and Video Makers have won an award for their coverage of the town’s Guinness World Record Attempt earlier this year.

The group was on hand in July to film Frome’s attempt to have the most people dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz in one place.

The world record attempt, organised by Frome Times and Kumon Educational, was a big success despite falling just short of the record and the film made was entered into the Southern Counties Region of the Institute of Amateur Cinematographers annual competition – and won!

The competition invites clubs in the South of England to submit a film they made and  Frome Film and Video Makers’ chairman, Ernie McKenna, decided to enter the world record attempt video.

Club members who were involved with the filming were Alan Cambell, Trevor Biggs, Ivy and Tom Roberts and Ernie McKenna.

The judges enjoyed the video immensely and awarded it the prize of “Best Edited Video”. Ann Vincent chair of SoCo said that the editing had been not only first class but due to the amount of content it was obvious that it had been a mammoth task.

Visitors and new members are always welcome to come along to see the club’s action-packed programme for 2014/5. They meet every other Thursday at the Canoe Club (next to the Cheese and Grain Market Yard, Frome.)

The internationally renown “5 Minute Festival” will be on held  on Saturday 28th March 2015 at the Catholic Hall, Park Road, Frome.

Please call to confirm attendance or with any queries Phil Marshman, secretary, on 01225 764752
