March Artist of the Month

The Cheese & Grain hosts the bright and beautiful work of Frome resident Caroline Walsh-Waring for the month of March.

Caroline  just about still manages to find time to paint alongside organising her family, the Frome Open Studios, the monthly Frome Artists Café and recording her radio show on Frome FM, ‘Blonde Perspective’.

Despite a seemingly demanding schedule Caroline ’s work continues to develop in her own quirky surreal style.  She said, “My work isn’t everyone’s taste, which is fine, life would be terribly dull if we all liked the same things, but recently having work accepted into the Gagliardi Gallery in London’s Kings Road has really confirmed to me that despite choosing a difficult road to follow artistically, it is the right road for me.”

Caroline really strongly believes that unless you create what is close to your heart a lack of commitment to your work will always show through.  She added, “What I paint is what excites me and unless I remain true to my desires I just wouldn’t enjoy what I do.”

Caroline’s work has recently been reviewed by the well-known art critic, Timothy Warrington whose review will be available to read from Caroline’s website very soon.  Further confirmation that she is on the right path comes from the number of commissions she receives each year, amongst everything else she is currently working on three at once.
