Generous donation of aggregates to Fair Frome

Fair Frome has just taken delivery of a lorry load of aggregates thanks to the generosity of Angela Yeoman, Aggregate Industries (Tor Works) and Shaun Burton Transport.

Having established the Frome Food Bank last October, the wet winter has played havoc and created a mud bath outside the Food Bank. This has caused problems for the volunteers who pack and sort the food parcels for families and individuals who need them, and are referred by partners agencies.

A request to Angela Yeoman saw the staff at Tor Works and Shaun Burton Transport swing swiftly into action, and within days a lorry load of aggregates were delivered free of charge outside the Food Bank.

Sophie Knight, Fair Frome Trustee and Food Bank volunteer said, “This has made such a huge difference to the volunteers and our ability to work safely and cleanly.

“Without such donations from local people and organisations the food bank could not continue the work it does in providing essential help for people in crisis in the town.

“Anyone wishing to help or donate money to support our work can find further information at www.fairfrome.org.”
