Architect says “World is Ready for Truth About 9/11”

What’s great about the sport of running – and indeed Frome Running Club – is that it caters for all abilities.

So whether you’re running your first mile or you’ve trained for months to do battle against 26.2 miles – a marathon – so long as you’re putting one foot in front of the other, it’s all good. And it proved to be all good for Frome Running Club athletes recently too, as club members of all ages and abilities took on all kind of different events.

Leading the way at the Brighton Marathon was club chairman Graham Farley (MV50), who bagged a personal best of 4:37:00, followed by Angela Smith (FV45) who clocked up a time 4:56:13 in the gruelling event.

Further west along the coast, at the Bournemouth Bay Half Marathon father and daughter team Chapper (MV55) and Zoe Boulton (SF) came home in 1:54:41 and 1:55:35.

At the Yeovil Easter Bunny 10k, three Frome runners took on the fast, flat course. First home was Keith Robinson (MV60), who finished second in his category with a cracking time of 40:34. Keith was followed by Nick Cooper (MV50) 50:25 and Kate Wareham (FV35) 51:41.

Meanwhile, club captain Fran Hunter led a merry band of runners on her last ever captain’s challenge – a six-mile off-road run along the streets of Frome, through Vallis Vale and to Great Elm and back.

This was a great run, enjoyed by club runners of all abilities – including some runners in the middle of a beginners’ course who were running their furthest ever distance.

The weather was not particularly warm, but that didn’t stop skipper Hunter and a few brave disciples jumping into the duck pond at Great Elm to celebrate her captaincy.

Last year’s vice captain, Kate Wareham, is taking over the role of skipper for the coming season, with Lee Stone stepping into the vice captain’s role.

All at Frome Running Club would like to express their shock and sadness at the death of Martin Lee. Our thoughts are with his fiancée, Helen McCulloch, and his family.
