Thursday Club celebrate 25th anniversary

THE Thursday Club recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with a party at Christchurch Hall. 

Treasurer, Brenda Wall, who has led the club for nearly 20 years said, “It was an absolutely wonderful day and we had brilliant weather.

“Everyone said how much they enjoyed the afternoon. We had a singsong and plenty of food. It was brilliant.”

They had 46 members and guests attend the party and everyone gathered round to see Evelyn Cullen, one of the club’s founding members, cut the cake.

Chairman Bill Bolt also attended the afternoon celebrations.

Brenda hopes that more people will join the club. She said, “Our next meeting, for the over 50s, is on the 16th July. Why not come along and join us at Christ Church Hall, Park Road, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm?”
