Frome’s independent bookshop is celebrating its fifteenth year of success with a series of interesting events this autumn.
Hunting Raven will be hosting Alexander McCall Smith at Rook Lane Arts on Monday 5th October at 7pm. Tickets are available from the Cheese & Grain at £10. The evening promises much delight as Alexander McCall-Smith will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 44 Scotland Street series with ‘The Revolving Door of Life’, as well as catching up with Mma Ramotswe in ‘The Woman who Walked in Sunshine’ and introducing his new series of books for children.
Author Beryl Kingston will be signing and talking about ‘Francesca and the Mermaid’ on Wednesday 23rd September at 11.00am ahead of her writers’ workshop at Frome Library in the afternoon.
On Sunday 4th October local author Nick Moyle and his co-author Richard Hood will be mashing up some fun with a cider making session and promoting their Brew It Yourself book at the shop from 11.00am – bring your excess apples for a special Frome Community Cider!
The shop has also been awarded a second James Patterson Grant to continue to promote the joy of books to children and young people over the year ahead. The staff are busy planning ‘Authors & Books for Children Days 2016’, rolling out more rural roadshows for the village schools and looking to collaborate with Frome Library.
