Lions to light Tree of Remembrance

FROMELions’ Tree of Remembrance will be lit up this Friday 4th December  at a public event at Rook Lane Chapel.

The tree’s dedication will take place from 6pm, and will have music from Frome Town Youth Band, as well as mince pies and mulled wine on offer.

Lion Mark Symes said, “The Tree of Remembrance has been running for several years and is a great way for the people of Frome to remember a loved one, by having their name attached to the tree.

“The tree is blessed by the local vicar, and people can join in the celebrations and carol singing, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.

“The tree remains lit for a month and is readily visible outside of the Rook Lane Chapel. It’s very popular and has become part of local tradition.

“People are asked to make a small donation towards the Lions’ local good causes.”

For more information about the tree and how you can take part in the tradition, contact club members Keith McLeod on 01373 454318 or Clive Smith  on 01373 466303.
