The Beat + support at the Cheese & Grain

The festive period sees one of the greatest bands of the 2-Tone movement – The Beat – return to Frome’s Cheese and Grain by public demand for a special Christmas show on Friday 18th December.

Transcending time with their ska fusion rhythms, they pull their audience into a world of skank-inducing beats, horns, and rip-roaring vocals – where relentless energy, flair, and flawless musicianship come as standard.

Known for their hit singles including ‘Mirror In The Bathroom’, ‘Too Nice To Talk To’, ‘Can’t Get Used To Losing You’, ‘Hands Off She’s Mine’, and ‘All Out To Get You’, The Beat formed in Birmingham in 1978, becoming an integral part of the same ska revival scene that spawned The Specials, The Selecter, and Madness.

Absolutely stomping party music to its core, The Beat’s material also has a deeply humanitarian message – focusing on peace, unity and love. It is no surprise that their loyal international fan base continues to grow.

The current line-up features Ranking Roger and Ranking Junior on vocals, Everett on drums, plus Andy Pearson, Michael Billingham, Matt Godwin and Steve Harper on sax, keys and guitars.

After three decades on the scene, The Beat are still one of the best live acts the UK has ever produced. Get your tickets for Frome’s festive 2-Tone treat now.
