THE Youth Production Network (YPN) has hailed this year’s end-of-season wrap party the best ever, after hosting it at the Westway Cinema earlier last month.
The party, normally held in London, was held and organised by people in Frome this year to promote the idea that people can be successful in the production industry outside of the capital.
Liam West, the network’s UK director said, “YPN Frome has been a fantastic project, for not only the YPN team but also the local community that have all come together to help support the event. Without the support of our fantastic sponsors the event wouldn’t have been possible.
“The local Frome crew all pulled together on this one to make it our best wrap party ever and the feedback we have received has been fantastic. Moving the event to Frome was a definite challenge initially but the support we received from all of the local community made it all worthwhile.
“The event was fully produced by a team of YPN crew chiefs alongside a brand new team of local crew, and featured incredible live performances set in the beautiful surroundings of the independent Westway Cinema in Frome.
“There are already a number of local Frome team members who will be selected to join the YPN crews on site next summer season.”
The party saw performances from local acoustic duo Spencer Cox and Nick Ballura, pop/punk five piece Record Low and energetic Plymouth post-hardcore band LASTONEOUT.
The Youth Production Network is an international organisation set up to help young people with a passion for live events get experience and training. Young people can be offered work experience at festivals, concerts and conventions across the country.
