Frome winner in Ordnance Survey Map Competition

LOCAL man Russell Ford has had two of his photographs selected to feature on the new editions of the OS Explorer maps. 

Russell, a former Frome College student, entered some of his photographs into the Ordnance Survey Photofit competition.  His winning pictures were selected from an enormous 15,000 entries.

Explorer 142 Shepton Mallet & Mendip Hills East features one of Russell’s shots, a rock climber climbing locally, whilst a picture of Polperro is on the cover of Explorer 107 St Austell & Liskeard.

Russell, a keen photographer, is currently reading Natural History at the University of South Wales and aspires to become a conservation wildlife filmmaker.
