Can you help home Syrian refugees?

MENDIPDistrict Council is looking for landlords to make two properties available for two refugee families who are set to move to the area.

Two families, amongst the 4million displaced people from the war in Syria, currently living in a refugee camp in Lebanon, have been specifically allocated to Mendip.

A group in Frome has been preparing for their arrival but now find availability of accommodation a real stumbling block.  Can you help?

Mendip District Council (MDC) and the local support group in Frome are looking for a two-bed and three-bed property.  These properties are required urgently.

MDC will provide much practical and financial re-settlement support including:

• Upfront costs associated with a new tenancy.

• Covering the market value rent of the property for a minimum of 1 year.

• Paying the landlord lost rental income if they agree to hold the property.

If you can help, please contact Joy Chadbourne of Mendip District Council at or on 07717 428265.
