Exciting new gallery opens

GALLERY at The Station is a new, contemporary gallery and creative space housed in a former industrial warehouse near Frome Train Station.

Run by a collective of creatives, the gallery is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and until 9.30pm on a Friday.

Following the success of their first exhibition, We Feed The Word, in collaboration with The Gaia Foundation, which closed on 10th September, Gallery at The Station have a series of interesting and engaging exhibitions planned for the autumn.

They say, “Holly Brown’s Simply Still exhibition runs from 16th – 19th September and features over 90 affordable and stunning still life paintings and drawings with accent plants by Pilea Plant Store.

“Colour, shape and form have become the base notes of Holly’s approach. Alongside pigment paintings, she also uses oil on board. In each painting, light and shadow is arranged harmoniously, encouraging the eye to travel evenly around the painting. Holly’s loose, free style and focus on colour, feeling and movement is evident in each of her stunning, still life compositions. All are welcome to the Private View which takes place on Thursday 16th September from 6:30pm.

“Continuing with the nature theme our next exhibition, Our Spaces in collaboration with Frome Town Council for Great Big Green Week, invites visitors indoors to experience and celebrate the shared outdoor spaces in and around Frome as represented by a curated selection of local artists and creatives including Nicky Knowles RWA, Paris, Antony Oram, Abigail Reed, Donna Sarah, Amanda Bee, Caroline Le Vine, Migy, Chris Pig, Alyssa Norton, Robbie WJ and Awesome Algae. It runs from 20th – 25th September. All welcome.

“One for music-lovers, Spin: The Art of Music, runs from 30th September – 31st October and celebrates music and our love for it through art. From making mixtapes to clubbing in Ibiza and from gig posters to big politics, this exhibition will be sure to spark up nostalgia.”
