Plant a tree for the Queen’s Jubilee

FROME Town Council is giving away 70 tree saplings to residents, as part of the ‘Queen’s Green Canopy’ – a tree planting scheme across the UK in honour of the Jubilee.

The town council says, “If you would like your family to have a jubilee sapling and be part of the Queen’s canopy then please go to our website to sign up, you simply need to be a Frome resident, and agree to look after the tree in your garden.

“The trees – a mixture of hazel, rowan, silver birch, have been chosen as they are good for gardens and are bee friendly and they will be available to plant up and take away at the celebration event. If more than 70 people sign up than we have trees available, the mayor will draw residents at random.”
