A fundraising evening held for paralysed Frome man, Josh Payne-Gover , has raised £3,715, which will go towards rehabilitation and equipment. The fundraising event was held at Chester House Social Club, Christchurch Street West, Frome on Saturday 29th September.
Josh was left paralysed after diving unknowingly into shallow water at Weymouth whilst on a trip to the beach in June with his friends. As he landed, the impact crushed his neck and back, severely damaging his C6, C7 and spinal cord. This has left Josh with a complete spinal injury.
Before the accident, Josh, a very keen sportsman, enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, golf and working out at the gym.
He still remains in Salisbury (Odstock) hospital, Duke of Cornwall spinal unit for rehabilitation.
The event was organised by local businessmen Frank and Patrick White.
The evening started off with music and karaoke, raffle and auction. The prizes were kindly donated by local businesses and people from in and around the town of Frome.
Josh’s family say they would like to give a big thank you to Frank and his son Patrick for organising a fantastic evening.
