A new social group for anyone interested in trains is launching in Frome this May.
The first informal meeting will take place on Friday 8th May, from 10.30am to 12pm in the Cheese and Grain cafe.
The Trains Connect group is open to anyone with an interest in trains in any form, whether that is heritage railways, train travel, model railways, train spotting or simply a curiosity about the topic.
Organiser Jenny said, “There is no agenda, no membership and no expectation to know anything in advance.”
People are invited to drop in, have a tea or coffee, chat with others about trains or simply listen. The idea is to create a relaxed, welcoming space where people can connect through a shared interest in trains. It forms part of the wider Frome Connects month of activities.
Jenny said, “Trains Connect is really just about bringing people together. So many people have an interest in trains, but do not always have others to share that with. This is a chance to meet people, have a chat, and enjoy that shared interest, whether you have loved trains for years or you are just curious.”
No booking is required, just turn up on the day. After this first session organisers will assess whether there is interest in a monthly group. If you cannot make the meeting but want to find out more, email connect@weareconnectors.org.
