Frome Town Football Club have made history by securing the first league and cup double in the club’s history, completing a remarkable season for the Robins.
The team won the Southern League Division One South title before lifting the Somerset Premier Cup, capping a record-breaking campaign that also saw a 31-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
The achievement follows a summer of uncertainty for the club, with manager Danny Greaves rebuilding the squad after relegation. The side went on to lose just four league games all season and only once after October, amassing more than 100 points and winning 14 consecutive home matches.
Manager Danny Greaves praised his players and staff, saying, “I want to thank every player who has pulled on the Frome shirt this season. Their commitment, resilience, and winning mentality have been second to none, and they have earned their rewards.
“To deliver a league championship at Step 4 with over 100 points, breaking many club records along the way, capped off with a league and cup double for the first time in this club’s long history is incredible. The players should be very proud.
“I must also thank the management team. Simmo (assistant manager Neil Simons) and I cannot do what we do without them.”
The cup triumph marks Frome’s fifth Somerset Premier Cup success, following previous wins in 1967, 1969, 1983 and 2009, and comes after final defeats in 2014 and 2025.
It is also only the fourth league title in the club’s history, adding to championships in 1963, 1979 and 2002.
The Robins sealed the league title on Easter Monday before winning the county cup final 3–2 last month after twice coming from behind. Supporters packed Badgers Hill for the final home game of the season to celebrate the Southern League Division One South championship presentation.
