A guest artist space has opened at the Shine Frome Arts Collective gallery in Rise on Whittox Lane.
As part of its initiative to support fellow artists in the local community, the group has created a dedicated exhibition area where creatives can display their work alongside Shine’s resident artists: Amy Yates, Emma Le Lohe, Julia Blaker, Kerry Munden Starr, Liza Saunders, Rose Hunter, Sarah Truscott and Sue Willis.
Shine member Kerry Munden Starr said, “We want to offer local artists the opportunity to showcase their work in a creative and supportive environment. Our beautiful, elevated gallery space at Rise is the perfect setting for exhibiting work and giving others the chance to learn and grow in their field and the platform to reach a new audience.”
The first guest artist to exhibit in the new space is Rowena Mayell, a Somerset-based artist whose work is heavily influenced by the natural world around her.
Working across a variety of mediums, she takes inspiration from the plants and flowers around her home to create ethereal, pattern-like pieces.
Visitors can view Rowena’s work until the end of June, after which the Shine gallery will host another guest artist for a six-week exhibition.
Artists interested in exhibiting with Shine can email shinefrome@gmail.com or visit the shop and gallery to speak to a member of the team.
