THERE’S just a week to go until Frome Musical Theatre Company’s youth section Spellbound take the stage to perform ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and tickets are selling fast.
The show will run from Thursday 4th – Saturday 6th August at 7pm with a matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday at the Memorial Theatre, and is set to be another show stopper, with musical numbers including ‘Close Every Door to Me’ and ‘Any Dream Will Do’.
Written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, the story follows the life of Joseph, a dreamer and interpreter of dreams. The favourite son and hated brother, he was sold to passing traders, bought as a slave in Egypt, wrongly imprisoned, released from prison to interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams and rose to be the most important man in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. Overseeing food production and storage during years of famine, he was unexpectedly but joyfully reunited with his family.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a fastpaced, enthusiastic musical journey following Joseph from his home in Canaan to Egypt and the world of Potiphar and Pharaoh. As with all Spellbound’s productions there will be energetic dance numbers, stunning costumes and lovely vocals performed by the talented cast.
