LOCAL mental health charity Frome Birth Talk (FBT) are in the running for a £500 grant from ASDA Frome’s Green Token scheme this June and are asking the community to take a moment to vote for them online at asda.com/ green-tokens.
The charity provides free counselling, weekly group and wellbeing activities for pregnant and new parents in the Frome area.
Volunteer Lucy McMahon says, “FBT are really excited to be in the green token scheme at ASDA. Obviously, the money would be fantastic, but we’re also really aware that we’ve had few opportunities during the pandemic to connect with pregnant and new parents in the community and let them know about the support we offer.
“The token scheme will help spread the word about FBT and ensure anyone who needs our help knows that we’re here for them. Voting is online, only takes a second and you don’t need to share any personal details, so please head to asda.com/green-tokens, look up Frome in the search box and vote Frome Birth Talk!”
A recent user of the counselling service said “I found the counselling extremely helpful: simply just being able to talk things through with someone outside of my family/friend unit who could reassure me that my feelings were justified and experienced by many others. I found the whole experience extremely positive and am extremely grateful that this is offered as a free service to those, like myself, who are in need”
The ASDA Frome green token scheme runs until 31st July at www.asda.com/ green-tokens/store?store=5830. More information about Frome Birth Talk is at www.fromebirthtalk.org.uk
