LOCAL eco, vegan garment decorating business, I Dress Myself, recently held a charity sale of new, undecorated clothing to raise funds for Fair Frome this winter.
The sale ran from 10am to 2pm and saw many enthusiastic supporters bag a bargain whilst helping this much treasured local charity.
“Frome residents were generous in their giving, securing new undecorated items ranging from t-shirts to hoodies and other organic cotton or recycled garments for a suggested donation,” said general manager Julian Goad.
Alongside securing cash donations, I Dress Myself also donated all unsold items to Fair Frome so that they might be given out to those in need who are struggling with the cost of living and keeping themselves warm this winter.
Julian visited Fair Frome to deliver five boxes of high-quality garments that will be distributed to Food Bank users and an envelope containing £418.
“I know I speak for everyone at I Dress Myself when I commend the wonderful work of Fair Frome,” he said. “It was my first visit to their new premises on the Marston Estate and I was really impressed by the scale of support they give to those who need it in our community. Our ability to play a small part in that is a privilege and we were thrilled to help.”
Senior coordinator at Fair Frome, Lenka Grimes said, “I Dress Myself is a wonderful local business with a great ethos and we were delighted when they approached Fair Frome to offer us the opportunity to be involved and benefit from their charity sale of clothing garments.
“The cash donation will go towards buying extra Christmas food for our growing number of people in the Frome community accessing our Food Bank. We will also be able to offer them brand new clothing items when they come in which will be an added bonus as many are experiencing rising living costs. Many thanks to I Dress Myself and we look forward to continuing our partnership.”

![Town-wide programme brings month of social activities in May
A month-long programme of activities and events is set to take place across the town in May as part of an initiative encouraging residents to connect with themselves, each other and local places.
The scheme, Frome Connects, will run throughout the month and includes a mix of social activities, creative events and informal meet-ups in community spaces.
Highlights include the return of Dress Up Fridays, which began during lockdown and invites people to wear formal clothing or fancy dress and turn the town into their catwalk each Friday.
Set-piece moments include a Kate Bush-themed flashmob (Running Up That [Catherine] Hill) on 30th May, followed by a bell peal at St John’s Church where the bells will play Running Up That Hill.
There will also be a whole-town drone photo on Friday 30th May, with everyone encouraged to ‘look up’ at around 12.30pm.
