IF you haven’t seen him already, there is still time to spot Father Christmas around the streets of Frome throughout December with his friends, the Frome Lions and Rotary Clubs who will be collecting donation for deserving causes in and around the town.
Since Friday 1st December, Santa has already made an appearance on his festive float around Nunney and Trudoxhill, Great Elm, Mells, Buckland Dinham, Stonebridge and Packsaddle.
The streets coming up on his route include: the Forest Road area on Thursday 7th December, Clink on Friday 8th December; The Butts and The Mount on Saturday 9th December; Innox Hill and Fromefield on Monday 11th December; Locks Hill on Tuesday 12th December; Whatcombe Road on Thursday 14th December; Critchill on Friday 15th December; The Frome Market Place on Saturday 16th December; Beckington on Saturday 16th December; Rode Monday 18th December; Badcox, Tuesday 19th December; Portway on Wednesday 20th December; Asda on Thursday 21st December; Edmund Park on Thursday 21st December; Chapmanslade on Thursday 21st December; Sainsbury’s on Friday 22nd December; and Marston Lane on Friday 22nd December.
There is also the chance for children to post letters to Father Christmas via the post box on the float. “Rest assured boys and girls that Father Christmas will, as usual, be reading all your letters in time for the delivery of presents but please make sure you include your name and address so that Father Christmas’s helpers can send a response to your letter,” says one of the helpers.

![Town-wide programme brings month of social activities in May
A month-long programme of activities and events is set to take place across the town in May as part of an initiative encouraging residents to connect with themselves, each other and local places.
The scheme, Frome Connects, will run throughout the month and includes a mix of social activities, creative events and informal meet-ups in community spaces.
Highlights include the return of Dress Up Fridays, which began during lockdown and invites people to wear formal clothing or fancy dress and turn the town into their catwalk each Friday.
Set-piece moments include a Kate Bush-themed flashmob (Running Up That [Catherine] Hill) on 30th May, followed by a bell peal at St John’s Church where the bells will play Running Up That Hill.
There will also be a whole-town drone photo on Friday 30th May, with everyone encouraged to ‘look up’ at around 12.30pm.
