Due to our groups having to be suspended over the next few weeks, Active and in Touch Tuesday group volunteers are going to be ringing the members who usually go to the group on a weekly basis, to have a chat and try to keep spirits high through these difficult times.
The charity says, Active and In Touch currently have around 150 members and the number is rising. We have an army of volunteers who do 1:1 befriending and they will be in weekly contact with their member and helping out however they can. If you have a friend or family member who will possibly have to self isolate over the next few weeks and need an extra voice to talk to them over the phone, then do let us know.
“If you email: enquiries@activeandintouch.org and our coordinators will ring you and see if we can help you.. over the last two weeks we have been inundated with people wanting to help.
“For people who want to volunteer, at the moment we can only accept people who have a DBS certificate and we are talking about online training (Skype). We are also working closely with Frome Town Council and other charities to bring a plan of action on how we can be best effective in these trying times.
