Educating Kenyan Orphans held a highly successful African supper at Mells Barn on 12th May.
Melanie Moulding, secretary, Educating Kenyan Orphans said, “Over £700 was raised after costs were deducted, so A BIG thank to all who came to the supper and so generously donated to the support of the EKO International School in Ngong, Kenya.
“The variety of spicy African dishes were very popular, the cooking of which was overseen by Grace Fay, the founder of the charity.
“Drum West, an African drumming group, played exciting rhythms through the evening. The drumming has been developed by Victoria Gater and Chris Hurn who have learned their skills from master African drummers. They conjured up on Kora, Bolon, Gyile Mrbira, Tama, and Kpanlogo drums a wonderful atmosphere resulting in enthusiastic dancing.”
