Christ Church and St Mary’s Church will be holding ‘Autumn Ember Fairs’ at Christ Church Parish Hall and St Mary’s Church and hall on Saturday 31st October, 9.30am until 12.30pm.
There will be Christmas gifts, decorations and cards, cakes, preserves, chutneys and jams, books, kitchen and dining ware, plants and bulbs, toys and games and a ‘nearly new’ sale. Plus a raffle, a Tombola and refreshments throughout the morning.
Patsy Stephenson, parish administrator said, “Between Christ Church and St Mary’s this year, 14 couples have been married, two have had their marriage blessed, 19 children have been baptised and we have held funerals for 17 souls.
“We hold services for our schools and nursing homes, host a number of musical events, including during Frome Festival week, and have strong connections with the Royal British Legion and the Air Cadets.
“The churches receive nothing in the way of government grants or funding and so, to keep our churches open and available to all, fundraising is a vital part of the events which are organised.
“Please come along to one or both of our fairs and grab some bargains, enjoy some tasty treats, help the churches to continue their service to our town, and most importantly have some fun.”
