SEVEN members of care staff from Frome were honoured at Somerset Care’s annual awards ceremony at the Holiday Inn, Taunton.
Over 160 guests attended the event where staff were recognised for their long service and special achievements in care, support and training. In total the company celebrated 915 years of long service, with five members of staff each celebrating 30 years service.
In addition to long service, 45 presentations were made to staff who had been nominated by fellow staff for their special achievements. The staff members from Frome honoured at the event were Jessica Symes and Sue Steeds from Critchill Court, Larraine Creighton from Rowden House and Derek Dixon, Susan Webber, Rose Chamberlain and Justine Plumridge from the Mendip Community Base.
Presentations were made by UKHCA chief executive Bridget Warr, Somerset Care’s chairman Chris Davies and non executive director Barrie Dale.
Speaking at the ceremony, chief executive Alyson Martin said, “It is wonderful to see so many of our staff members honoured for their hard work and dedication to Somerset Care. It has been a lovely day and a pleasure to be able to celebrate our staff’s achievements.”
Somerset Care is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare providers in Southern England. The Company provides over 39,000 hours of community care every week of the year to people in their own homes in 15 local authority areas, and through their residential care services they operate 32 care homes which provide residential and nursing care for over 1,550 residents.
