BATCOMBE Film Society will be screening ‘FRANZ’ on Friday 16th February at the Jubilee Hall.
The 2016 film, directed by François Ozon is set in a small German town in 1919 and follows the story of Anna who comes across a young Frenchman laying flowers at the grave of her fiancé killed in the First World War.
Adrien says he and Franz were friends in their student days and feeling a bond through shared grief, Anna introduces him to Franz’s parents who after initial resistance welcome him into their home.
But Anna (superbly played by Paula Beer) is curious about Adrien and his relationship with Franz and begins an emotional and physical journey of her own.
