FROME Carnival Committee held a Christmas raffle last year to help raise funds for the Carnival in 2018. Julie Barney was the lucky winner of first prize of £250, kindly donated by Haven Timber.
Carnival chairman, June Barnes, along with Ali Baily, presented the lucky winner Julie Barney with first prize of £250, on Tuesday 19th December.
Julie told the Frome Carnival Committee that the money will go towards a trip to Rome, a place she would love to visit again.
There were other prizes kindly donated as well, such as hampers, fruit baskets, chocolates and biscuits.
June Barnes said, “We are very pleased for Julie. She has been a great supporter of the carnival for many years. We would like to thank Haven Timber for kindly donating the money as a prize. Without their help we would have to find the prize money ourselves and we definitely do not have that amount to give away.
“Also, thank you to all who supported the draw and continue to support us throughout the year.”
