Frome cat welfare charity Cats In Distress held its third birthday with its annual open day on Saturday 18th May
The charity says, “The open day was a great success. Despite reports of rain, the weather was perfect, not too hot, and over 250 visitors attended the event.
“Old Mill Group sponsored the barbecue, with Asda kindly supplying the rolls. Hidden Woods were a real hit with children of all ages, getting messy with clay modelling, learning new weaving skills and enjoying toasting marshmallows over an open fire.
“Happiness Beauty Rooms, The Purky Enclave and The Bee Depot all gave up their free time to support us. And the local Frome PCSOs turned up with their Kuga car, and lots of advice to keep us all safe.
“Volunteers worked tirelessly, the visitors ate, drank and gave very generously, together raising £2,500 – helping us to help more cats.”
