A Frome resident has started a petition (on change.org, link below) to the Prime Minister to create an annual day during the year to celebrate all that the NHS does for us.
It’s the idea of Will Palmer who says, ”The annual day is not just for now because of the bravery and incredible work the staff are doing in the face of this terrible virus but also because of what they always do for us.
“For over 70 years, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day the @nhs are there for us. Our true unsung heroes.
“Now more than ever it is time to honour these wonderful people.
“After watching the Queen’s speech on Sunday and her tribute to all the amazing people that work in the NHS, I felt moved to start a petition to the Prime Minister to create an annual day to honour all these amazing people.
“I expect I am not the only one who is calling for this but I would appreciate your support in my campaign to boost our numbers and deliver this to the Prime Minister, once he is better and we all come through this difficult time.”
