FROME Town Football Club are now proud owners of their very own real ale, made especially for the club by a local brewery.
The bar at Frome Town FC’s home ground is fully stocked with 1904, a mid-brown 4.2% bitter.
Its name is taken from the year when the football club was founded 108 years ago.
1904 was created by Blindmans Brewery in Leighton near Frome.
Frome Town FC secretary Ian Pearce said, “Blindmans Brewery has supported the football club for years. We have so many people visit the club from all over the country, who are always asking for a real ale. It’s selling really well.”
Lloyd Chamberlain, from Blindmans Brewery, also doubles up as Frome Town FC’s first team goal keeping coach. He said, “We are happy to support the club with their own real ale.
“With every pint of 1904 that is sold, more funds are being put into the club fund. So Frome Town FC fans are supporting the club by drinking it.”
1904 is on sale for £3 a pint.
