A CHILDREN’S picture competition to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee is being organised by Frome Heritage Museum.
The museum, in North Parade, will be commemorating Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne with an exhibition that runs from mid-May through to the Jubilee weekend.
In support of this exhibition, the trustees of the museum have announced a picture competition, open to children between the ages of four and 12. The winning entries will then be put on display within the museum during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Competition organiser Glynis Tingay explains, “We invite children to submit a drawing on A4 paper of a character or theme representing the Queen’s reign.
“Any medium can be used but the child’s name and age, plus an adult’s contact phone number, must be on the reverse.
“All entries must be delivered or sent to the museum in North Parade by Saturday 28th May and the display will start the following week.”
There will be three age categories for children to enter and these are: 4-6 years old; 7-9 years old; and 10-12 years old, with only one entry per child permitted.
As well as the winners having their drawings displayed in the museum, there will also be small prizes available for the best submissions in each age category.
Glynis added, “This is a wonderful opportunity for the young people of Frome to show their appreciation of the Queen’s extraordinary reign.”
