FROME’S festive season begins in style this Friday. Head to the Market Yard for a little night market from 4pm-9pm; grab a bite to eat before enjoying the magic of the Light the Night lantern parade and the Frome Christmas lights switch on in the town centre; then follow the parade back to the Market Yard for music, gift shopping and lovely street food and drink.
Sunday 3rd December is the last Frome Independent market of the year and the perfect chance to get your Christmas shopping in the bag. Between 10am and 3pm Frome town centre will be full of incredible local designer makers and producers. Shop for perfect gifts and special stocking fillers directly from small independent businesses. You’ll find an amazing selection of jewellery, ceramics, homewares and fragrance, apparel, skincare, accessories and original artwork.
The Frome Independent says, “There’s always a lovely festive feel to the December market, with choirs, mulled cider and wine, Christmas trees and wreaths. Stock up on seasonal treats from local food and drink producers and the Somerset Farmers Market.
“Create an individual gift bag for the food lover in your life with salsa, hot chocolate, dressings, pickles and spice mixes. You’ll find local gin, cider brandy, liqueurs, wine and of course delicious Somerset cider to add sparkle to your celebrations.
“Most of the market’s food traders will take orders for delivery so you can be sure to have the best fresh produce for your Christmas and New Year table. Speak to them on the day or find their website/contact details on The Frome Independent’s market directory.
“For the busiest market of the year, the partner charity is Fair Frome and the Frome Christmas Get-Together who will be collecting cash donations throughout the day. Market goers always give generously to the Christmas collection and support the vital work of this amazing charity.
“Money raised will help to support the growing demand on the food bank, the Fair Frome Community Pantry and Fair Frome’s Food at 5 community hot meals plus the Frome Christmas Get-Together. Please look out for the volunteer collectors on the day and donate if you can.”
