Young performers from Frome Musical Theatre Company’s youth section will bring a classic musical back to the stage next month.
Frome Musical Theatre Company’s youth section will perform Singin’ in the Rain at the Memorial Theatre from 6th to 8th August as part of its 2026 summer production.
Based on the 1952 film musical, the show is set in 1920s Hollywood and follows a film studio as it adapts from silent movies to “talking pictures”.
The production features songs including Moses Supposes, Make ‘Em Laugh, Good Mornin’ and Singin’ in the Rain.
The production also marks a full-circle moment for director Dora Bishop, who appeared in Spellbound’s 2006 production of the show as Lina Lamont when she was 13 years old.
This year’s Lina Lamont, Florrie Walker, has been part of Frome Musical Theatre Company since 2018.
Dora said, “Watching her take on one of musical theatre’s most iconic comic roles is another wonderful full-circle moment in Spellbound’s story.”
Tickets are available from the theatre box office. Call 01373 462795 or visit www.fromememorialtheatre.org.uk for more details.
