For the past seven years The Cooper Hall Foundation, a registered charity, has been quietly and organically growing and supporting the work of emerging artists and the professional development of young singers through their education and workshop programme.
Its home, Cooper Hall, is based in Jacks Lane on the outskirts of Frome in the grounds of a private family home, Selwood Manor.
Alongside this educational work, Cooper Hall also programmes an eclectic mix of music events throughout the year. Although the venue initially launched hosting classical and operatic events, they now regularly programme performance of international quality from the jazz, folk, world and contemporary music scenes.
Generosity and accessibility are key to the Cooper Hall ethos born out of the patronage of the family and charitable trust – everyone is warmly welcomed at the door and made to feel like a guest in someone’s home.
