VETERAN folk rockers Fairport Convention will be playing at Frome’s Cheese and Grain on Saturday 21st May.
Next year will see Fairport celebrating 50 years of music-making and doing what they love best – treading the boards!
Every spring the band undertakes a nationwide UK tour which this year features them playing material from their latest album “Myths and Heroes,” along with old favourites drawn from their extensive repertoire.
The band is credited with creating British folk/rock music with their iconic album ‘Liege and Lief’, which BBC radio 2 listeners voted ‘The most influential folk album of all time.’
The band’s line-up consists of founder member Simon Nicol on guitars and vocals; long-time member Dave Pegg on bass, mandolin and vocals; Ric Sanders on violin; Chris Leslie on vocals, violin, mandolin, bouzouki, whistles and harmonica; and Gerry Conway on drums and percussion.
Tickets cost £23.50 each.
