A FAMILY Fun Day is being held in Frome on Saturday to raise money for two local cancer charities.
The event is on Saturday 3rd September at Frome Rugby Club, 12-4pm and attractions include bouncy castles, football fun factory, live music, stalls from local people selling jewellery and hand-made gifts, a raffle, a tombola, second hand uniform stall, barbecue, sumo suits and an inflatable slide
It’s being organised by Frome-based charity, Lisa’s Army, which will be sharing proceeds with another Frome-based charity, We Hear You.
“We have arranged a fun day at Frome Rugby Club to continue to raise money so that we can provide help to cancer patients,” explained Deanna Wells from Lisa’s Army.
“Lisa Wells (my daughter) set up Lisa’s Army after she found out she had terminal bowel cancer in December 2017. She wanted to raise awareness of signs and symptoms of cancer and be able to help fellow sufferers.
“Unfortunately, Lisa died three years ago, but myself and her husband made Lisa’s Army into a registered charity and now continue to try to raise awareness and help people and families suffering from this dreadful disease.
“We wanted to work in conjunction with WHY and will donate half the monies raised on the day to them as they are also a local charity helping people with cancer and they have helped our family through very hard times.”
